New Bill Makes it Harder to Divorce

July 17th, 2008 · No Comments

According to rumors, it may become even harder to get a divorce in the state of Texas. The state representatives have been bringing a new bill in to be deliberated on. This month a bill was passed that now allows a couple to take a premarital class in exchange for not having to pay the fee to get your marriage license.

This new bill that they are trying to pass is going to allow a couple of different options when a couple is looking to get a divorce in the state of Texas. This new bill says that the couple needs to take a 10 hour marriage strengthening class together to help their marriage. If the couple chooses not to take the class, the couple will be required to wait at least 2 years in order to finalize their divorce. This bill will go before the committee in Texas and will hopefully make a decision about it some time this month.
